Subject: Re: Is the Greece cultural tour suitable for me?
Dear Karin,
Thank you for reaching out – I am glad you are considering our Treasures of Ancient Greece tour, and I want to make sure you have all the information you need to make the right decision.
Regarding mobility and walking: I want to be completely honest with you. The archaeological sites in Greece do involve a fair amount of walking on uneven terrain, particularly at the Acropolis, Mycenae, and Delphi. However, I have good news: we have successfully accommodated guests with knee concerns before, and there are several things we can do to make the trip comfortable for you:
That said, Mycenae and Delphi do have steep sections, and I would rate the overall physical demand as moderate. If you are comfortable walking 5,000–8,000 steps per day on varied terrain with breaks, you should be fine.
Regarding vegetarian food: You will be delighted to know that Greek cuisine is actually one of the most vegetarian-friendly in the Mediterranean! The traditional diet is heavily based on vegetables, legumes, grains, olive oil, and cheese. Some of the dishes you will love include:
We will inform all restaurants in advance about your dietary requirements, and our guide will help you navigate menus throughout the trip. The cooking class on Day 5 can also be adapted to focus on vegetarian dishes.
Travelling solo: Approximately 30% of our guests on this tour travel alone, and many of them have told us it was one of the best decisions they made. The small group size (maximum 14 people) makes it easy to connect with fellow travellers, and our guide creates a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. A single room is available at a supplement of NOK 4,200.
I would love to have you on board, Karin. Please let me know if you have any further questions – I am here to help!
Warm regards,
Thomas Eriksen
